How to Install a Pull-up Bar in the Doorway

Now mark the location of brackets is done. The next step is drilling holes for the brackets at the selected site. Drilling pilot holes will assist you to avoid floor or stud cracking over time. Another benefit of it is with pilot holes, and you can easily fix up the mounting bolts.

In the case of two sets of fixing brackets, perform both 2nd and 3rd steps again. Usually, with removable pull-up, you will get sets of fixing brackets (usually, it is two sets).

Some hardware set has screws. In such a case, use driver drill for tightening instead of socket set or adjustable wrench.

Step 5- Test the Installed Pull Up Bar

Now time for checking the installed pull up bar. At first, you can tug it for confirming that it is secured. Otherwise, just hangs from the pull-up bar and see whether it is capable of sustaining your weight or not.

Keep enough distance from the top of the doorway for mounting doorway pull-up bars. If you mount it too close to the top of the doorway, you won’t have any clearance for your bar or your hands while exercising.

  • For grabbing the bar, jump up. Just hang from it
  • Until your chest almost touching, the bar keeps pulling yourself up by using your arms. Then lift yourself so that your chin is above the pull-up bar. For preventing any injury, make sure that you are leading with your chest and also keep your shoulders low and back.
  • For reaching to the point, don’t move your legs back and forth or side to side. It may injure you, and also this is cheating.
  • Now lower yourself back down to the preliminary starting point and repeat it until you can’t go anymore.

  • Latissimus Dorsi
